Garden landscaping
Have you noticed that garden usually creates the first impression about you and your house for the visitors? That is one major reason why your garden should always be trim, well cared along with your interior. Of course garden landscaping is also as personal in taste as your interior decoration and there is no reason to follow the same guidelines. Usually home decoration and garden landscaping are absolutely different in styles in order to bring some diversity in general atmosphere. Some people prefer planned walks, clipped edges, ordered flower borders that are attributes of strict English garden. Other people like natural, wild look in their outdoor area.
If you want your garden to look good first thing you should do is to find out if there are some zoning regulations in the place you live in. That should be made because these zoning rules determine all you will need, i.e. the height and placement of shrubs, trees and other foliage. Below I will list few examples of most popular garden landscapes. You can freely choose them for your own garden.
First of all you can choose for your garden formal style. It uses a lot of straight lines and different perfect geometrical shapes. There is no place for random plant positioning, just strict order. As you may see - if we have formal garden landscaping style there should be informal one too. This kind of landscaping works well with hotel cottages and bungalow. Beds with curved edges instead of straight lines and random placement of plants suit this landscape style. English Garden style is all about the harmony between the garden and the house's architecture. Oriental garden is often found in small backyards. You can find there rocks, evergreens and water. A wide variety of plants create several interesting angles with this style. And at last but not least - if you have slopping ground and wooded backyard then woodland style is for you.
Garden landscaping is a big and daunting task that consumes a lot of energy and time. So I will propose you some tips that could save you both time and money. First of all try to think about exactly how you want to see the final garden design. Do not forget bout the functions of your landscape and its style. Will there be a place for barbeque, an area for entertaining, an area for children to play, swimming pool or a miniature fishpond? Think about the design of the place were you spend most of time. That will be the best place to start from. Second - you must consider that independent landscape designer work may cost you much more than you expect. And on the other side you may be able to get free plants or rocks at a nursery or on the internet. Of course if the situation with your garden is not very friendly then a professional might give you the expertise or good advices to save costly mistakes.
Anyway remember, that many will get professional landscapers and others will do
the jobs themselves. Only thing that is needed is the desire for the beauty.
